11 celebrities from beauty pageants

In Ghana, a few well-known celebrities participated in beauty contests and continued to build a strong brand. Here are some notable Ghanaian celebrities who are beauty pageant products;

Yvonne was a contestant in the 2005 Miss Ghana beauty pageant. Although she did not win the crown, she made her debut in the film ‘Princess Tyra’ and has shot over 100 films both locally and internationally. She currently runs her own film production house called YN Productions, a day care center, and owns an island on the outskirts of Accra called YN island.

She is a notable name in the industry, Kafui is an actress, producer, wife and mother known for her works in ‘4 play’, ‘Any Other Monday’ etc. She was a former contestant in the 2004 Miss Ghana Beauty Pageant.

Sandra came second in the 2002 Miss Ghana beauty pageant. Over the years, she has built a brand around media and law.

Former Queen Miss Ghana is a fashion, travel and lifestyle enthusiast, traveling the world and discovering beauty.

Popularly known as the African Mermaid, Sister Debby has been in the music industry for quite some time now. She is known for her controversial song “kakalika love” and was a former Miss Malaika contestant in 2005. She is also a fashion designer.

She came third in the 2010 edition of Miss Malaika. Since then, she has enjoyed an incredible media career. She began her career working on Gh One television as a host of a “Glitterati” fashion show. She recently moved to join Media General.

The TV personality is also an event host and brand ambassador for many notable brands in the country including Absa Ghana, Lucozade, Samsung Ghana, etc.

Born Priscilla Opoku Agyemang, the actress participated in the 2011 edition of Miss Malaika. She’s had an incredible acting career in recent years, including making appearances alongside Kalybos in sketches and films.

She entered the Miss Malaika beauty pageant in 2014 and entered mainstream media soon after. She started her media work with Gh One TV and recently joined Media General.

Anita also represents some top brands in the country as an ambassador, such as Vitamilk Ghana, Duffy’s Beauty, Ayeeko Spices, Floral Fabrics and others.

She was one of the 2005 finalists for Miss Malaika. She managed to build a strong brand around presenting on radio, television, acting and also in commercials. She is a brand ambassador for a number of well-known brands and currently works with Asaase Radio.

She came second in the 2012 edition of Miss Malaika. She then joined the media scenes, hosting programs on GhOne television. She is also an actress and entrepreneur.

She participated in the 2010 edition of Miss Malaika. She moved on to modeling for brands like Levis, Mr. Price, etc. Signed to international model management, Roselyn has enjoyed an incredible career in the fashion and modeling industry working with the world’s top fashion brands and photographers.
